Ella Mae Ortega is a seasoned senior executive with an illustrious career spanning over 25 years in the IT, business services, and Healthcare industry. Currently serving as the Chief of Business Technology Services for the prestigious First Philippine Holdings Healthcare group of companies (comprising Asian Eye and Medical Services of America – Philippines), as well as the role of General Manager for PiVOT, Ella Mae brings a wealth of expertise and leadership to her roles.

With a solid foundation built during her 15-year tenure at IBM, Ella Mae has excelled as a Services Business Leader, including a significant regional stint in ASEAN and India. Her journey continued to flourish as she honed her “people leadership” and “data and process” skills through pivotal roles at Fritz & Macziol Asia and Teradata Philippines, respectively.

Prior to her current positions, Ella Mae distinguished herself as the General Manager of IT Services at Philippine Telegraph and Telephone Corporation, where her visionary leadership played a crucial role in reinventing the emerging business unit. Under her guidance, PT&T underwent a transformation from a traditional telecommunications player to a comprehensive technology services provider.

Ella Mae’s track record of driving innovation, fostering growth, and spearheading transformational initiatives underscores her status as a dynamic leader in the industry, poised to make enduring contributions to organizational success and advancement.

Lizbeth Ann Salonga is PiVOT’s Clinical Operations Manager and the Business Unit Head in the company’s Clinical Trial Management. For 20 years, she has acquired experience in pharmaceutical clinical research by working as  Medical Information Search Specialist, Senior Clinical Research Associate, and Medical Projects Manager before coming to PiVOT.

She obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology at the College of the Holy Spirit in Manila and Post Graduate units at the College of Public Heath of the University of the Philippines Manila. Driven by her interest in the allied medical field and clinical research, she ascertains that the drugs available in the market are ensured to be safe and effective.

An INFJ herself, she is compassionate and is guided by her principles, with patient safety being the goal in mind. She has contributed to the industry by leading the implementation of Virtual Libraries in several medical training institutions. She is a team leader in gathering data on the application of vaccines as part of the immunization program in the public sector. In addition, she has also monitored several clinical trials for drugs that are now available in the market.

When she is not busy, she likes to read, watch movies, and go for a walk. She is also a music enthusiast and listens to various genres, including rock, pop, ballad, jazz, and classical.

Joseph Cheng has been with PiVOT since its early days, spearheading its conceptualization and growth to make it one of the top CRO companies in the Philippines. With a four-year tenure as the Business Development Head, Joseph brings a wealth of management experience from his previous Corporate Planning roles at JG Summit Holdings Inc. and First Philippines Holdings Corp., where he was exposed to different industries.

He graduated from the University of the Philippines with a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics cum laude. Joseph later obtained his Master of Business Administration at the National University of Singapore with an exchange program at the Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. The interaction with classmates from all over the world greatly expanded his appreciation and understanding of different cultures and views. To this day, he regularly keeps in touch with them.

During his spare time, he engages in his passions—doing photography, learning about history, playing RTS games, and traveling. He’s an aviation enthusiast and loves plane spotting, preferably with an ice cream in hand.

An INTJ, Joseph is always thinking a few steps ahead. This sometimes makes it difficult for others to appreciate his immediate efforts but he always means the best.

He also has an attention to detail that others let pass without notice. Joseph firmly believes that working at the forefront of technology will further his goal of improving the lives of many people.

Cheng is a seasoned multimedia and marketing leader with over a decade of experience in crafting impactful brands and fostering positive work cultures. Leveraging her expertise in multimedia production, project management, and strategic communications, she helps organizations develop compelling narratives that resonate deeply with their audiences.

Prior to her current role, Cheng held positions within the Philippine government, specifically the Executive Branch – Office of the President and the Office of the Vice President. She then transitioned to the private sector, joining FPH Healthcare Group.

Cheng’s strengths lie in seamlessly blending creative storytelling with strategic marketing campaigns, while fostering collaborative partnerships. As an ENFP personality, she is deeply committed to building inclusive teams, inspired by the potential of individual talent and the power of collective collaboration. Her passion extends beyond professional pursuits, with a strong advocacy for uplifting the lives of Filipinos through improved healthcare.
