From Invoices to Impact: The Finance Team’s Pivotal Role in PiVOT CRO’s success

In the fast-paced world of Contract Research Organizations (CROs), the spotlight often falls on principal investigators, clinical researchers, and clinical trial experts. However, there’s a crucial team working tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure the smooth operation of these organizations  — the finance team. At the heart of PiVOT CRO’s financial powerhouse is Hyacinth Daya, a dedicated Finance Operations Analyst whose story is a testament to the unwavering commitment and resilience of those who work behind the scenes.

Hyacinth: The Single Mother Balancing Act

Hyacinth is more than just a finance professional; she is a single mother who shoulders the responsibility of providing for her son, Honesto. Juggling the demands of motherhood and a career is no easy feat, but Hyacinth has found a supportive home at PiVOT. The company’s commitment to work-life balance has empowered her to excel in both roles.

“PiVOT has been more than just a workplace; it’s a support system. The flexibility I’ve received has allowed me to be both a dedicated mother and a successful employee,” shares Hyacinth.

One of her most cherished memories is surprising her mother with an expensive Mango bene cake from a popular Filipino restaurant, a small token of gratitude made possible by her mid-year bonus. This moment symbolizes the fruits of her hard work and the impact her role has on her family’s life.

From Numbers to Clinical Understanding

Hyacinth’s passion for her work extends beyond financial calculations. Driven by a desire to contribute meaningfully to PiVOT’s mission, she has taken the initiative to understand the clinical trial process. With the support of the Clinical Research Associates, she has delved into the complexities of Site Selection Visits, Monitoring Visits, Site Visit Logs, and Close Out Visits. This newfound knowledge has equipped her with a deeper appreciation for the financial aspects of clinical research.

“Understanding the clinical context has enriched my work in billing and collections. It’s like connecting the dots; I see how my role directly contributes to the success of our clinical trials and appreciation of PiVOT’s overall mission,” explains Hyacinth.

The Finance Team: Driving PiVOT’s Success

The finance team, including Hyacinth, plays a vital role in the success of PiVOT. They are responsible for the complex tasks of managing client payments, generating accurate invoices, and ensuring financial integrity. Their work is often overlooked but undeniably crucial.

PiVOT’s Finance Team received the “Team of the Year” Award last Year-end Party

Hyacinth and her team achieved a remarkable feat last year at HALE, the FPH Healthcare Group’s Year-End party, earning the coveted “Team of the Year” award. They tackled a “herculean” task of processing an overwhelming number of expense lines and successfully reconciling and closing a major contract within an incredibly tight deadline. This achievement not only showcased their exceptional skills but also had a significant positive impact on the company’s cash flow, allowing PiVOT to continue operations without financial constraints.

“I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to work at PiVOT,” says Hyacinth. “The support I’ve received has enabled me to not only excel in my career but also be a present and loving mother to my son.”

A Bright Future for Hyacinth and PiVOT

Hyacinth Daya and the finance team at PiVOT exemplify the dedication and hard work that drive the company’s success. Their story is an inspiration to all PiVOT employees, highlighting the importance of every role in contributing to the organization’s overall mission.

PiVOT’s Finance/Revenue Operations Team

As PiVOT continues to grow, Hyacinth and the FinOps team will undoubtedly play an even more critical role in shaping the company’s financial future. Their commitment to excellence and their ability to overcome challenges make them invaluable assets to the organization.
