PiVOT shines at BIO Asia-Taiwan 2023 Conference, Proudly Showcasing the Philippines

The threat brought by Typhoon Doksuri (known in the Philippines as Typhoon Egay) did not dissuade the 1,500 participants, including PiVOT, the largest and fastest-growing Philippine Contract Research Organization (CRO), from attending and sponsoring The BIO Asia-Taiwan 2023 Conference. Despite the challenging weather conditions, the conference saw an impressive turnout, with approximately 35 per cent of attendees being foreign participants. With over 5,500 one-on-one business matching requests, the event proved to be a significant platform for networking and collaboration.

Held under the theme “Embracing Asian Dynamics,” the three-day conference commenced on July 26 at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center, showcasing the potential of the Asian biotech industry.

Throughout the duration of the event, a total of 23 sessions were conducted, covering a diverse range of topics. These sessions delved into crucial subjects such as international investment trends, mRNA and gene therapies, innovative technologies, and market supply chains.

This year’s Bio Asia Taiwan kicked off with an invigorating opening conference, featuring a warm welcome introduction by Johnsee Lee, Chairman of BIO Asia–Taiwan 2023, followed by Chung-Hsiun Wu, Chairman, Taiwan Bio Industry Organization; and Susanna Ling, Vice President, Industry Partnerships and Programs, Biotechnology Innovation Organization (BIO).

One of the highlights of this year’s Bio Asia Taiwan was the Company Presentations program, which not only showcased the talent and innovation of local startups but also attracted the attention of internationally renowned companies.

Among the impressive lineup of presenters, PiVOT, led by our Business Development Head, Joseph Cheng took the stage to share valuable insights. During his presentation, Cheng highlighted the advantages of conducting clinical trials in the Philippines, shedding light on the immense potential that the country holds in this field.

The BIO Asia-Taiwan Conference provided an excellent platform for PiVOT and other industry stakeholders to forge new partnerships, explore potential collaborations, and showcase their innovative solutions. With a strong focus on business matching, the event facilitated meaningful interactions, enabling participants to connect with like-minded professionals and explore mutually beneficial opportunities. It allowed them to connect with key stakeholders from various sectors, including biotechnology companies, pharmaceuticals, vaccine manufacturers, medical device companies, and other Contract Research Organizations (CROs).
